Manchester United finally agree £85m fee to land 26-year-old defender
Manchester United have finally agreed on a £85m package to land the signature of defender Harry Maguire from Leicester City this summer.
The Red Devils have been hot on the trail of the centre-back in the past few days and it was recently indicated that they were £20m short of meeting the Foxes' £90m price tag.
However, after an extended run of negotiations, it appears that the clubs have agreed on a middle sum of around £85m, which would make Maguire the most-expensive defender in the game's history, The Telegraph reports.
Furthermore, it is stated that he has already arrived at the club's Carrington base for a medical but it is unclear whether the formalities will be completed before the club's friendly game against AC Milan tomorrow.
United are planning a late spending spree after a quiet month in the transfer window and the likes of Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala and Bruno Fernandes could also be heading to Old Trafford before Thursday's deadline.
