Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Lazio over the potential signing of midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as they anticipate the departure of Paul Pogba from their ranks.

The Red Devils have held a long-term interest in the Serbia international and they seem keen on acquiring his services before Thursday's transfer deadline, particularly with Pogba leaning towards a move to the Bernabeu.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's side have already turned down Los Blancos' opening offer of James Rodriguez and £27m for the Frenchman, but reports indicate that the Madrid giants are bound to come up with an improved proposal.

Amidst this, Metro claims that the Red Devils are in discussions over a transfer deal for Milikovic-Savic, who has been earmarked as a suitable replacement for Pogba rather than playing alongside him.

United have also been linked with a surprise move for Christian Eriksen in the past few hours, but it is unclear whether an official offer will be made for the Denmark international.
