Mesut Ozil's representatives open talks with MLS club?
The representatives of Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil are reported to have opened discussions with MLS club DC United regarding a potential transfer at the turn of the year.
Ozil has two more years remaining on his current deal with the north London giants and he has previously indicated that he has no plans of parting ways with the side.
Still, the speculation regarding his future has refused to cease and according to The Express, the German's entourage are understood to be holding negotiations with DC United over a winter transfer.
The Capital club are due to part ways with Wayne Rooney following his decision to play for Derby County from January and reports suggest that Ozil could potentially fill the Designated Player spot.
Nonetheless, the former World Cup winner will have to take a significant pay-cut on his current £350,000-a-week wages while the Gunners are bound to demand a reasonable transfer price for his sale.
Ozil managed to win over manager Unai Emery with a regular starting role during the backend of the previous season but it is unclear whether his position remains the same under the Spaniard this term.
