Jurgen Klopp provides injury update on Alisson
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that goalkeeper Alisson Becker could be sidelined for a few weeks after sustaining a calf injury during the Premier League opener against Norwich City.
The Brazil international suffered the setback during the first half of the 4-1 triumph over the Canaries and he was thereafter replaced by summer signing Adrian between the sticks.
In a report covered by the club's official website, Klopp dismissed the recent speculation in the media which suggested that the Brazilian could be sidelined for around six to eight weeks.
The German tactician added that he cannot provide an exact return date for the former Roma man, though the shot-stopper may not be absent for more than a couple of weeks.
"I don't want to make now [an] exact prognosis on when he will be back, but it will not be Wednesday for sure, so then we have to see. It takes a while, it takes a couple of weeks for sure, and we have to see." he said.
In the absence of Alisson, Adrian is set to make his second appearance on the bounce for the Reds when they tackle Chelsea in the European Super Cup on Wednesday night.
