Solskjaer to spend on creative playmaker in January

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to provided with the entirety of the £75m fee received from Romelu Lukaku's sale as he aims to strengthen the squad in January.

The Red Devils purchased Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire and Daniel James for a combined £140m fee this summer but they missed out on signing a creative midfielder.

Both Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes were linked with the Red Devils during the closing stages of the transfer window but ultimately the club decided to stick with the options at hand.

According to The Sun, Solskjaer still has the ambition of adding a creative midfielder to the ranks and could address the desire when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.

The same publication claims that the Norwegian may be offered with the whole £75m package received from Lukaku's sale to Inter Milan prior to the English transfer deadline.

United have made a good start to the new Premier League season and they have accumulated four points from the opening two games against Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
