Solskjaer reacts after Man United's draw against Soton

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that the Red Devils are on the right track despite the fact that they managed only a 1-1 draw against Southampton on the road.

A stunning goal from Daniel James opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the 10th minute and they looked good value for their lead at the halfway mark of the game.

However, the Saints levelled the scores through Jan Vestergaard before the hour mark and thereafter, United could not find the net despite their opponents down to 10 men for the final 17 minutes.

Speaking after the game, Solskjaer said that the club have a foundation to build on and they are on the right track despite the result, he told: "Well you want to have a foundation to build on.

“The thing is; if we keep getting battered and chances and chances and chances, then there is loads of work to be done. But we are on the right track; we are not conceding many chances."

United have accumulated just five points after the opening four league games. They are now winless for three games on the trot and will be aiming to bounce back when they face Leicester City after the international break.
