Arsenal handed boost in signing Belgian attacker?

Yannick Carrasco news

Carrasco wants Dalian exit next year

Arsenal have been handed with a potential boost in signing Yannick Carrasco with Dalian Yifang resigned to the fact that he wants to return to European football.

The Belgium international was linked with the Gunners during the early stages of the summer transfer window but a deal did not materialise with Dalian holding no ambition of sanctioning his sale.

According to Calciomercato, Carrasco remains intent on making the return to European football next summer, considering he has dropped down the pecking order for a starting berth with Belgium.

The same publication suggests that Napoli's Dries Mertens has been earmarked as a potential replacement, considering he would be available on a free next summer, thereby negating the need to pay 100 percent tax.

Carrasco has been a success for Dalian with 21 goals and 16 assists from 46 appearances. He has also been linked with the likes of Inter Milan in the past and could be the subject of a bidding battle at the end of the season.
