Liverpool open contract talks with leading star
Liverpool have reportedly opened talks with Sadio Mane regarding a new and improved contract.
The Senegal international is currently tied to the Reds until 2023 but the club seem intent on committing him to a longer deal following his splendid start to the season.
According to Soccer Link, the Reds have begun initial negotiations with Mane regarding an extension and they have already indicated that a payrise will be included.
Mane, who bagged the Premier League Golden Boot last season, has started the current campaign in sublime fashion with six goals from as many games including a brace in the recent league clash against Newcastle United.
Overall, he has contributed a goal in every other game for the Merseyside giants since joining them from fellow league side Southampton in the summer of 2016.
Liverpool will be in Champions League action against Napoli on the road on Tuesday night. Thereafter, they have a tricky league encounter against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
