Manchester United still interested in signing Championship defender
Manchester United are reportedly still in the running to prise away defender Nathan Collins from Championship side Stoke City.
The Red Devils were fancied to swoop for the 18-year-old's services last summer after being recommended by former star Darren Fletcher, who had watched the centre-back in close quarters at Stoke.
However, a deal never materialised over the course of the transfer window but ESPN claims that the Red Devils could return for the Republic of Ireland youth international this winter.
The teenager has been highly-regarded within the Potters ranks and he has already made four appearances in the Championship this term and was named captain for the clash against Leeds United last month.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has previously stated the aim of pursuing young and hungry players and Collins could be earmarked as a probable competitor for Victor Lindelof, who has made a couple of mistakes already this term.
