Solskjaer confirms James is sidelined for Astana clash

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Daniel James has suffered a knock in the lead-up to the Europa League opener against Astana.

The Wales international has been in sparkling form for the Red Devils since his summer move and he has already amassed three goals in the Premier League for the side.

As a result, he has become an automatic pick in the club's frontline but Solskjaer has revealed that the attacker won't be available for tonight's European meeting against Astana.

Aside from James, Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw are unavailable for the clash as they are yet to recover from their respective injuries sustained before the international break.

“I don’t think we’ll see Paul or Anthony, I’m sure we won’t see them. Luke is not ready yet. Dan is touch and go. He missed training today and [his recovery] might be longer than expected but hopefully [he’ll be back for] the weekend," he told MUTV.

Meanwhile, Solskjaer has confirmed that he will ring in the changes for the Europa League clash and Sergio Romero, Axel Tuanzebe and Mason Greenwood have been confirmed as starters for the game.
