Man United open contract talks with Gomes

Manchester United have reportedly renewed contract talks with young graduate Angel Gomes with his existing deal due to expire at the end of the campaign.

The 19-year-old has been highly-rated through the youth systems at Old Trafford and he made his maiden European start for the club during the recent 1-0 win over Astana.

According to The Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils have reopened contract negotiations with the attacker, who has previously been reluctant to sign a new contract due to the lack of gametime with the first-team.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has so far resisted against the prospect of playing Gomes in the Premier League but the club are still hoping to extend the teenager's stay with the assurance that he will get his chance to impress.

Solskjaer has already stated the ambition of building a young and hungry team and Gomes has the chance to establish himself with the first-team, should he make the most of the opportunities offered.
