Manchester United chasing Serie A centre-back?

Manchester United are reportedly looking into a mid-season deal for Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly as they seek to enhance their chances of making the top four in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have made a dismal start to their league season and they are currently just a couple of points off the relegation places after the opening eight matches.

According to Goal.com, the future of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hanging in the balance but that won't hamper the club's business when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.

It is added that Koulibaly has been earmarked as one of the top transfer targets with the hierarchy aiming to make a desperate push for Champions League qualification during the backend of the campaign.

United are presently five points behind the top four in the Premier League but they could fall further behind, if they fail to register a victory over table-toppers Liverpool after the international break.
