Manchester United quoted price for Ivan Rakitic
Manchester United have reportedly been informed by Barcelona that they will need to make an offer of around £35m in order to secure the signature of Ivan Rakitic in January.
The Croatia international has made a single league start for the Blaugrana this term with summer signing Frenkie de Jong preferred ahead of him in the pecking order.
According to Sport, the Red Devils have already made contact with the Spanish champions regarding a deal for Rakitic, who is weighing up his options for the New Year.
It is added that the Blaugrana have stated that they would require a minimum fee of £35m in order to sanction the permanent sale of the former Sevilla man.
United have parted ways with both Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera in the calendar year but they have yet to pursue a replacement for either of those players.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were linked with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff during the summer but a deal failed to materialise for any of their midfield targets.
