Manchester United interested in signing ex-Liverpool midfielder

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to make an attempt to sign former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, who has fallen out-of-favour at Juventus.

The Germany international only made the move to the Bianconeri from Liverpool in the summer of 2018 but he is already struggling for gametime with just three substitute appearances this term.

According to Calciomercato, Can is expected to consider a fresh challenge away from the Italian champions with manager Maurizio Sarri unlikely to hand him with a regular run of starts.

It is added that United are one of the clubs keeping a close eye on the former Reds star and they could seek to lure him back to the Premier League when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

Aside from Can, the Red Devils are also considering a move for Mario Mandzukic from the Serie A holders as they seek to strengthen the centre-forward department.

Both Mandzukic and Can were left out of the Bianconeri's Champions League squad for the group stage and the former has yet to make an appearance for the club this season.
