Times journalist Duncan Castles has said that Mauricio Pochettino is considering a fresh challenge away from Tottenham Hotspur and he could be open to joining Manchester United.
The Argentine has been with the north London giants for the past five seasons and the previous campaign was the most successful with Spurs reaching the Champions League final against the odds.
However, the club have made an average beginning to the current season and Pochettino is undoubtedly under pressure with embarrassing defeats to Colchester United, Bayern Munich and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Speaking on The Transfer Window Podcast, Castles has revealed that Pochettino is targeting a new job elsewhere and United are regarded as his preferred destination.
"The information I have from someone close to Pochettino is he has very much targeted a new job. And the club I’m told he is targeting at his next job is Manchester United," he told.
Spurs have a home game against Watford following the international break and they will be hoping to return to winning ways. Pochettino's side are presently four points behind the top four.
