Chelsea confident of agreeing contract deal with in-form striker
Chelsea are reportedly on the cusp of committing Tammy Abraham to a new long-term contract.
The England international contributed 26 goals during a loan stint with Aston Villa last term and he has carried over the form with the Blues this term with nine goals across all competitions.
As a result, the 21-year-old has emerged as the undisputed striker under Frank Lampard and the club are now working towards extending his contract beyond the summer of 2022.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are in advanced negotiations with the striker regarding the renewal and they are very confident of getting a deal over the line.
Abraham presently earns around £50,000-a-week at the club but he stands the chance of trebling his wages after standing out with his performances upfront.
Abraham produced another impressive performance against Newcastle United at the weekend but Marcos Alonso eventually made the difference with the winning strike in the 73rd minute.
