Maddison tipped to join United

Manchester United are reportedly growing confident of acquiring the services of midfielder James Maddison from Leicester City.

The 22-year-old has been strongly linked with the Red Devils since the summer and many reports indicate that he has been earmarked as the ideal choice for the number 10 role at the club.

According to The Manchester Evening News, the Mancunian giants are increasingly confident of luring Maddison to Old Trafford next year and former Foxes teammates Harry Maguire could play a key role.

However, the ex-Norwich City youngster won't come on the cheap and Brendan Rodgers' side are expected to demand around £80m for his future exit from the King Power Stadium.

Maddison is presently contracted to the Foxes until the summer of 2023 and the east Midlands outfit don't face any pressure to sell with plenty of time remaining on his deal.

Still, the Foxes have generally cashed in on their star players when the right offer has been placed on the table and Maddison could be prised away at the end of the campaign.
