Manchester United to swoop for Inter Milan striker?
Manchester United have reportedly joined Barcelona in the race to sign Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.
The Red Devils parted ways with both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez (loan) over the summer and they decided against pursuing suitable replacements.
This has genuinely hampered them during the opening months of the season and they have failed to score more than one goal since the 4-0 drubbing of Chelsea in the curtain-raiser.
According to FC Inter News, the Red Devils have earmarked Martinez as a potential striker target and they could be prepared to compete with Barcelona for any future transfer.
Martinez contributed just nine goals during his debut season with the Nerazzurri last term but he has started the current campaign in fine form by scoring six times from just 11 appearances.
Manchester United's attacking woes have somewhat been eased with the injury comeback of Anthony Martial, who scored from the penalty spot in the 1-0 Europa League win over Partizan last night.
Aside from Martial, Marcus Rashford has been the other regular choice to lead the line for the Red Devils but he has been inconsistent with just one goal from open play since September.
