Mesut Ozil heading for January Arsenal exit?
Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil could reportedly head through the exit door in the New Year amid his struggles to break into the matchday squad under Unai Emery.
The German has failed to make the matchday squad for five matches on the bounce and Emery has previously suggested that the playmaker does not deserve to make the team when compared to the other players available.
According to Bleacher Report, Ozil may be forced to reconsider his future at the Capital outfit, considering he has fallen out-of-favour under Emery, who has been reluctant to even include him on the bench.
Ozil has previously stated that he is committed to the club until the expiry of his contract in June 2021, but there are suggestions that he may be forced to reassess his situation with the present treatment under Emery.
MLS outfit DC United have earmarked Ozil as a potential replacement for the departing Wayne Rooney. Elsewhere, David Beckham is also interested in recruiting the German for his Inter Miami team.
