Mason Mount speaks on Barcelona, Real Madrid speculation
Mason Mount has said that he is clearly focused on the first-team duties at Chelsea amid recent suggestions that he could pursue a bigger challenge.
Mount's former Vitesse teammate Mitchell van Bergen recently heaped praise on the Blues graduate and suggested that it may not be long before he joins one of Barcelona or Real Madrid.
However, speaking at a press conference, Mount has clearly refuted the prospect of that happening while stating that he is focused on establishing himself at the west London giants.
"I saw what Mitchell said. I'm obviously very close to him – we had a very close bond. He's a brilliant player, but my focus is on Chelsea and this is my first year, so I don't look too far ahead," he told.
Mount suffered an ankle injury during the recent 4-4 Champions League draw against Ajax. He has, however, returned to training and a late fitness test is expected to determine his involvement against Crystal Palace.
