Frank Lampard provides fresh update on Mason Mount's injury
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed that Mason Mount has recovered from his ankle problem but a late fitness test will determine his involvement against Crystal Palace.
The England international sustained the injury during the midweek Champions League clash against Ajax where the Blues registered a 4-4 draw from 4-1 down.
Mount was initially predicted to miss the weekend's London derby against Palace but Lampard has now confirmed that Mount will feature, provided he is able to pass the fitness test.
"With Mason, he's in the squad. We're giving him another 24 hours and we'll make a call on that one in the morning," he was quoted as saying by the club's official website.
Mount has been ever-present for the Blues in the Premier League and Champions League this season and has contributed four goals and an assist in all competitions.
His potential absence against the Eagles could offer Callum Hudson-Odoi with a starting role. Christian Pulisic may shift to the number 10 position for Hudson-Odoi to feature on the left wing.
