Manchester United, Arsenal set to battle for Juventus defender
Manchester United and Arsenal will reportedly go head-to-head to acquire the services of Juventus defender Merih Demiral in January.
The 21-year-old was one of the summer signings for the Bianconeri but he has struggled for gametime under Maurizio Sarri with just one appearance in the Serie A.
As a result, the Turkey international is said to be contemplating his future ahead of the New Year and Tuttosport claims that both United and Arsenal could battle it out for his signature.
The Red Devils were interested in signing Demiral shortly after his arrival at the Bianconeri in the summer but their pursuit ended after the big-money purchase of Harry Maguire from Leicester City.
On the other hand, the Gunners were linked with a move for Demiral on a couple of occasions but they decided against making any formal approach for the player unlike United.
Both teams have sent scouts to watch Demiral in action for Turkey during the current international break. Demiral recently helped Turkey keep a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Iceland.
