Edinson Cavani set for MLS move?
Paris St Germain and Uruguay international striker Edinson Cavani could be set for a shock move to the United States to join the MLS. It is understood that Inter Miami are in pole position to snap up the forward, in a deal that could be worth up to $10 million.
Galaxy were rumoured to be in pole position to secure Cavani's signature for the 2020 MLS season, however it has emerged that Inter Miami are favourites to wrap up a deal. It is understood that representatives of the player and LA Galaxy met in Italy just last week to discuss a deal for the 32-year-old striker.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic leaving LA Galaxy, it is understood the club want to sign Cavani as a like for like replacement.
The Uruguayan himself is open to a departure away from PSG, but will be seeking a contract package of around $200,000 a week, making him the highest paid player in Major League Soccer.
Cavani has 18 months remaining on his existing contract worth 170,000 euros a week with Paris St Germain.
