United to extend Bailly's contract

Manchester United are reportedly determined to extend the contract of Eric Bailly beyond the summer despite his long-term knee injury setback.

The Ivorian has been with the Red Devils since the summer of 2016 but he has been limited to just 51 league appearances, given he has suffered multiple injury setbacks.

One of those happened during the season opener against Chelsea, where he picked up a knee ligament damage and he is unlikely to return to action until mid-December.

According to The Sun, the Mancunian giants still value the defender in high regard and they are likely to prolong his stay beyond the end of the current campaign.

It is added that the club have the option of a two-year extension clause inserted into his contract and they will most likely trigger the same to keep him for a couple of more seasons.

Bailly has recently begun his rehabilitation programme after a knee surgery and he could return to the playing field for the Red Devils before the turn of the year.
