Dzeko wanted by Man United

Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on landing Edin Dzeko from AS Roma when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.

The Red Devils have been fancied to pursue an experienced striker in the New Year and Juventus' Mario Mandzukic has been fancied to make the move to Old Trafford.

However, according to ESPN, that does not appear a guarantee anymore, considering the Red Devils are concerned over the striker's lack of gametime during the first half of the season.

As a result, they seem to have switched their attention towards Dzeko instead, who has previous Premier League experience while playing for cross-town rivals Manchester City.

Dzeko has been in good form this term with six goals and two assists in 15 appearances but it is unclear whether he would fancy a return to the English top-flight.

The marksman was seemingly keen on a move to Chelsea last year but he has since committed his future to the Giallorossi by signing a fresh three-year contract earlier this season.
