Frank Lampard keen on new Chelsea contract for experienced star
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is reportedly keen on the club sorting out a new contract for Willian, who has remained an important player from the starting lineup this season.
The Brazil international made an indifferent beginning to the campaign as he had just recovered from a hamstring problem but since September, he has been ever-present in the Premier League and Champions League.
He has contributed a tally of three goals and three assists during this period and Lampard has regularly iterated the importance of the attacker's experience on the playing field.
According to Goal.com, Lampard has urged the club's hierarchy to resolve the future of Willian, whose existing deal is scheduled to expire at the conclusion of the current campaign.
So far, the Blues have been reluctant to offer him with more than a 12-month deal but it remains to be seen whether they will eventually meet the forward's demands for another two seasons with the club.
