Real Madrid make transfer decision on Chelsea star
Real Madrid have turned down the prospect of signing Willian on a free transfer when his Chelsea contract expires at the end of the season.
The Brazilian has less than eight months remaining on his current deal with the Blues and so far, there has been no breakthrough in terms of the extension.
As a result, he is free to discuss a pre-contract with an overseas club in the New Year and his representative is said to have alerted Real Madrid over the current situation.
According to Defensa Central, Los Blancos are aware of the player's availability, but they are unlikely to make an approach, given manager Zinedine Zidane is content with the options at hand.
Los Blancos have young players in the form of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, who have impressed in the wide attacking roles and Zidane does not want to hamper their progress with new signings.
Willian has also been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks but Chelsea are still said to be hopeful of committing the winger to a new contract beyond the summer.
