Serie A duo AC Milan and Napoli are reportedly weighing up January moves for midfielder Lucas Torreira, who has grown frustrated with his situation at Arsenal.

Torreira has been restricted to just four Premier League starts this term and throughout the season, he has regularly played in an advanced role rather than his preferred holding midfield position.

According to The Sun, both Milan and Napoli are keeping a close eye on the Uruguayan's position amid suggestions that the midfielder may request a mid-season departure from the Emirates.

Napoli came on the cusp of signing Torreira from Sampdoria last year but the north London giants managed to beat them to his services after coming up with a late transfer approach.

Meanwhile, Torreira was hotly tipped for a reunion with manager Marco Giampaolo at Milan during the summer but the Gunners clearly dismissed the chances of the midfielder leaving the club.

Giampaolo has since been sacked from the head coach role at the Rossoneri but they continue to hold an interest, particularly with Franck Kessie fancied to head through the exit door in January.
