Arsenal target ex-Porto manager to replace Unai Emery
Arsenal have reportedly added Vitor Pereira to their shortlist of managerial targets to replace Unai Emery as the next head coach of the club.
Pereira has built his reputation by winning league titles at Porto, Olympiakos and most recently at Shanghai SIPG, where he continues to remain the manager.
According to The Times, the Gunners are likely to intensify the search for Emery's successor following the club's dreadful run of nine games where they have failed to pick up a victory.
The same publication adds that Pereira is one of the options being considered but he is also on the radar of Everton, who have recently dismissed Marco Silva from the helm.
The Toffees were previously interested in landing Pereira during the summer of 2013 but they instead decided to recruit Roberto Martinez from then-relegated side Wigan Athletic.
Arsenal are currently experiencing their worst-ever run in all competitions since 1977. They are just five points ahead of the relegation places ahead of a potentially testing festive schedule.
