Mikel Arteta identifies Arsenal transfer targets
Mikel Arteta has reportedly identified probable transfer targets for Arsenal ahead of his proposed move to the club at the end of the week.
The Spaniard has been the assistant manager at Manchester City for the past three years but he is currently on the verge of succeeding Unai Emery as the next Gunners boss.
According to The Independent, the Gunners hierarchy are in advanced negotiations with their former skipper and talks have also been held over the transfer targets for the forthcoming transfer window.
The Gunners have struggled in the Premier League over the past few months and a run of one win from nine matches sees them languishing in the 10th spot and seven points behind the top four.
Still, they have more than half of the season remaining to turn things around and it remains to be seen whether Arteta can transform their fortunes. The Gunners have an away league game at Everton this weekend and Arteta could be appointed prior to that.
