Xhaka set for Arsenal exit?

Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin are understood to hold an interest in signing Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka when the transfer window reopens.

The Swiss was stripped from the captaincy at the north London side after his fallout with the club's fans in October but he has been reintegrated into the team following a time on the sidelines.

Still, there are question marks regarding his future with the club and The Telegraph claims that Hertha are willing to offer him with a return to the Bundesliga next month.

Mikel Arteta has recently been appointed as the new Gunners boss and the Spaniard is expected to make the final decision over the position of Xhaka with the club.

Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil has been heavily linked with a mid-season loan move to Fenerbahce and reports have emerged that the Gunners have already opened talks with the Turkish side over the temporary deal.

Ozil has been unimpressive for the Gunners this campaign with just one assist in all competitions and there are widespread claims that he won't fit into the plans of Arteta, who demands a high intensity on the field.
