Liverpool boss wants to sign Real Madrid star
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen on landing the signature of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid during next summer's transfer window.
Rodriguez returned to Los Blancos after a two-year loan spell with Bayern Munich but he has since managed just four league starts before picking up a knee injury.
The Colombian is expected to return to action following the turn of the year but there are doubts concerning his future at the Bernabeu where he remains in and out of the lineup when fit.
According to Marca, Klopp is said to be a keen admirer of the former Monaco man and the German will attempt to sign him for the Champions League holders at the end of the season.
Rodriguez's current deal with Los Blancos is due to expire in the summer of 2021 and the Reds will be eyeing a deal for a reduced fee when compared to the current price tag of around £65m.
Liverpool have already made one January signing in the form of Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg. Klopp has hinted that there may be no more movement in the transfer market as he satisfied with the options for the season.
