According to Mirror, Tottenham are ready to make Giovani Lo Celso’s transfer a permanent one in January.

The Argentine midfielder joined the North London outfit on a season-long loan from Real Betis last summer.

Despite the early injury struggles, Lo Celso has managed to impress Jose Mourinho in the last few matches.

The report also adds that Spurs could save around £7 million were they able to sign the 23-year-old permanently before the end of this month.

Earlier, the Portuguese manager expressed his scepticism on Lo Celso’s stature, saying that he wasn’t sure when the South American would fit into the squad.

The ex-PSG youngster has shown a glimpse of his quality in the final few outings in the Premier League and in the UCL fixture against Red Star Belgrade, where he registered his first goal for Spurs.

The North London outfit are currently sixth in the Premier League table, a point adrift of Manchester United. They also drew against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup 3rd round.
