Emanuelson wanted by Arsenal
Ajax's defender Urby Emanuelson is wanted by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. Arsenal's defence is looking a little short after injuries to Gallas and Sagna, and versatile player Emanuelson could be the answer. Arsenal already have Clichy in the left back position, but it is believed Emanuelson is regarded by Wenger as a prospect for the future who can play in either full back roles.
The 21-year-old Dutchman has 6 caps for Holland and is highly regarded in his homeland. A number of Premiership sides have been linked with the left back, including Man Utd, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea; but it looks as if Arsenal could be the first to make a concrete offer.
Emanuelson has a contract at the Amsterdam ArenA until 2011 and a fee of £7m has been suggested to complete the signing of the Dutchman.
