Aston Villa striker wants to join Chelsea this summer

Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran is reportedly keen on joining Chelsea amid interest from multiple Italian clubs.

The Colombian ace joined the Villans from Chicago Fire in January 2023, and he has scored only five goals from 35 outings.

Duran has largely been a substitute behind Ollie Watkins and he is keen to move on from the club for regular playing time.

Fabrizio Romano now reports that Chelsea are interested in landing his signature and preliminary talks are underway.

Duran has already given the green light for the transfer and Villa are prepared to sell him for a fee between £35-40 million.

The news will come as a surprise for Chelsea fans, considering they were initially interested in Napoli star Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian is no longer on their radar, considering his huge wage demands and the £111 release clause in his contract.

The Blues are prepared to pursue a cheap alternative with potential and believe Duran could develop into an elite marksman.
