David Ornstein updates on Arsenal's interest in Amadou Onana
Arsenal are not looking to sign Amadou Onana during the current transfer window, according to David Ornstein.
The north London giants are eyeing a new defensive midfielder and they have been linked with Onana for the past year.
The club met with the player's representatives in January, but they did not make a formal approach for his services.
In an update today, Ornstein has revealed that the club are not contemplating the option of signing the Belgian this summer.
The Gunners have other alternatives on their radar. Onana could still leave Everton due to their ongoing financial crisis.
The club need to recoup funds before the end of the month and this could open the door for a potential cut-price transfer.
Manchester United are among the admirers of the former Lille man and it remains to be seen whether they can afford him.
Everton previously valued Onana at around £60m, but they are now prepared to sell him in the region of £40-45m.
