Serie A giants make contact to sign Manchester United midfielder
Serie A giants AC Milan are understood to have made contact with Manchester United regarding the possible signing of Nemanja Matic this month.
The Serbia international struggled for playing time for most of the first half of the season but he has started the last three league games after injuries to Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.
According to The Mail, the Rossoneri are keen on sealing a cut-price move for the Serbian and they have begun discussions regarding the same earlier this week.
Matic's current deal expires at the end of the season but the Red Devils have the option of extending his stay for another 12 months by means of the extension clause.
Matic has not been a favourite among the United faithful over the past 18 months but United may reject the advances from the Rossoneri due to their injury crisis.
The club are looking at the prospect of landing Bruno Fernandes from Sporting this month but the Portuguese normally operates in an attacking midfield position rather than in the holding role.
