Frank Lampard provides fresh transfer update on Ross Barkley
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has dismissed the prospect of Ross Barkley leaving the Blues amid the recent speculation linking him with a move to West Ham United.
The England international has barely played for the Blues in the past few months due to an ankle problem but he has recently starred for the club in the back-to-back games in all competitions.
Amidst this, there has been the speculation of him making the move to the Hammers but Lampard has rubbished the claim by stating that the midfielder's future remains with the club.
"There's no talk here of Ross Barkley going anywhere; he's our player. He's played the last couple of games and done very well. I've got a lot of faith in Ross. That was news I heard just like everyone else, but there's absolutely no feeling towards that here. I'm very happy with him," he told via Football.London.
The Blues are said to be eyeing a new midfielder and defender in the transfer window but they are presently not close to signing anyone to strengthen the first-team squad.
Real Madrid's Isco and Lille's Boubakary Soumare have been linked with possible moves but the Blues have yet to find the breakthrough for any of those players.
