Slimani wanted by Man Utd this month

Manchester United are reportedly looking at the option of landing Islam Slimani on a short-term loan deal from Leicester City before the end of the month.

The Algerian is currently in the ranks of AS Monaco on loan where he has impressed with seven goals and seven assists in the French top-flight.

Despite this, his gametime has reduced over the past few weeks and The Guardian states that the Foxes could recall him from the temporary stint.

The same outlet reports that United could be keen on landing the marksman, given they are keen on filling the void left by Marcus Rashford's injury.

Solskjaer's side are only planning to propose a loan move for the season but that won't come on the cheap with the Foxes likely to demand around £5m for the 31-year-old.

Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood are presently the specialist strikers in the club's ranks and Solskjaer is understood to want an experienced option to provide the support off the bench.
