Manchester United to sign no players this month?
Manchester United could reportedly conclude the January transfer window without making a single addition to their first-team squad.
The Red Devils have endured a mixed season by their standards and they are currently six points behind the top four of the Premier League.
Of late, they have suffered setbacks with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba and it has been claimed that they could pursue a new striker and midfielder before the transfer deadline.
However, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein, the club are far off from agreeing a deal with any of their transfer targets and they could come empty-handed at the end of the month.
Bruno Fernandes has been the prime target to strengthen the creative midfielder department for the club but they have failed to reach an agreement with Sporting for his services.
The Portuguese side are demanding in excess of £55m for the playmaker but United are adamant that they won't pay anything more than £42m for the former Sampdoria man.
