Arsenal face Bayern competition to sign French attacker
Bayern Munich have reportedly joined Arsenal in the race to sign Thomas Lemar from Atletico Madrid prior to the winter transfer deadline.
Lemar has endured a tough 19 months with the Madrid giants and during this period, he has bagged just three goals from 64 appearances in all competitions for the club.
Moreover, he has made no goalscoring contributions in the current campaign and reports have emerged that he could be permitted to pursue a fresh challenge elsewhere.
According to Goal.com, the Gunners have proposed to land the forward on an initial loan move with the option for a permanent purchase in around five months' time.
However, they could be beaten to the player's services by Bayern, who have identified the Frenchman as a possible alternative to Leroy Sane from Manchester City.
Bayern are said to be keen on a permanent move for the former Monaco man and that would fend off the competition from the Gunners, who are working on a limited budget and are focused on loan deals this month.
