Olivier Giroud heading to Tottenham Hotspur?
Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be eyeing a surprise move for Olivier Giroud from Chelsea with manager Jose Mourinho keen on finding a replacement for the injured Harry Kane.
Kane has recently undergone a surgery for a hamstring injury and reports have emerged that the England international could be sidelined for the rest of the campaign.
As a result, the north London side have stepped up their pursuit of a new striker and an exclusive from 90min claims that they have an eye on signing Giroud from the Blues.
Giroud has grown frustrated with the lack of gametime at Stamford Bridge and of late, he has been left out of the matchday squad on numerous occasions with Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi being the preferred striker choices.
A move to Inter Milan has been touted over the past few weeks but the lack of progress seems to have alerted Spurs, who are prepared to meet the Blues' asking price and hand the striker with a two-and-a-half year deal.
For now, Chelsea are reluctant to do any business with their arch London rivals, who are competing for the top four. It remains to be seen whether their stance changes prior to the transfer deadline, suppose Giroud is still at the club.
