Yannick Carrasco makes surprise La Liga return amidst Crystal Palace interest

Atletico Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement with Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco, signing him on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 26-year-old turned out to be a key target of the Premier League club Crystal Palace, but Diego Simeone & co have managed to lure him to Spain.

Carrasco's last stint in Europe was with the Rojiblancos before he made his switch to Chinese outfit Dalian Yifang. He played for three seasons in Spain.

He has been out of action since the conclusion of Chinese Super League in December but has been training in Belgium intending to make a return to Europe.

Carrasco accumulated 17 goals and 7 assists in the recently concluded CSL campaign.

The report states that Atletico have signed their former star on a loan status with a buy-option, which relies on his progress for the rest of the season.

The Rojiblancos were also linked with PSG striker Edinson Cavani, who has now decided to stay put in France.
