Manchester City left-back Angelino has reportedly joined RB Leipzig on loan, according to Goal.com.

The report states that the Spaniard will spend the remainder of the season in Bundesliga whilst Leipzig has an option to buy him permanently in the summer for a fee worth €30m.

This marks their second big signing in the transfer window following the acquisition of Dani Olmo from Dinamo Zagreb.

Angelino was seldom used by Pep Guardiola since his return to Ethiad from PSV last summer.  In other words, the 23-year-old failed to meet the expectations in the Premier League. He has made only nine appearances for Cityzens this season in which three of them came in Football League Cup.

With the Spaniard's exit, City have Benjamin Mendy and Zinchenko as their only left-back options.

As a total surprise, Guardiola went with a three-man defence in their Carabao Cup game against Manchester United with no proper left-back/wing-back in the line-up.

City will face Tottenham in their next Premier League fixture on Sunday.
