Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a late swoop for the services of Odion Ighalo from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.

The Red Devils have been desperate to sign a new marksman on loan before the transfer deadline and so far, they have failed with bids for Joshua King and Teemu Pukki.

According to The Athletic, the club's focus has now shifted towards Odion Ighalo and they are hopeful of striking a loan agreement with Shenhua before the 11pm deadline.

The Nigerian marksman has been plying his trade in the Far East for the past three years and during this period, he has amassed 46 goals from 75 appearances for Changchun Yatai and Shenhua.

United are currently with just two main strikers in Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood, considering Marcus Rashford could be sidelined until mid-March after a double stress fracture in his back.

The Red Devils are scheduled to host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday evening. Bruno Fernandes, who happens to be their only January signing, is expected to make his debut.
