Frank Lampard wants to sign Premier League goalkeeper
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has reportedly indicated that he would like to land the services of goalkeeper Nick Pope during the summer transfer window.
Kepa Arrizabalaga was recently replaced with Willy Caballero between the sticks and reports have claimed that Lampard could stick with the veteran for the rest of the season.
According to The Express, Blues director Marina Granovskaia has urged Lampard to keep faith in the services of Arrizabalaga, who was pursued from Athletic Bilbao for a world-record £71.6m fee for a goalkeeper.
However, Lampard seems clear with the plan of replacing Arrizabalaga in the first-team squad and he has requested the signing of Pope, who has been in sublime form with nine clean sheets for Burnley this term.
Bilbao are apparently keen on re-signing Arrizabalaga from the Blues but the west London side will have to accept a financial loss as the Spanish outfit are unlikely to pay anything more than £45m for the shot-stopper.
