Angel Gomes tried to leave Manchester United
Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes was keen on a loan move away from the club during the closing stages of the January transfer window.
The attacker has made just six appearances for the Red Devils this season and he is expected to head through the exit door when his contract concludes at the end of June.
According to M.E.N, the Red Devils graduate was keen on joining a fellow Premier League on loan for the rest of the season but the move was blocked by the Mancunian giants.
Gomes has been reluctant to sign a new deal on wages of around £30,000-a-week and he is said to be desperate for regular playing time which has not been the case under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The England under-20 international is thought to be attracting interest from the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea and Leicester City, and he seems on course to leave the Red Devils on a free in the summer.
