Troy Parrott signs new contract with Tottenham amidst Bundesliga interest

Troy Parrott extends his contract until 2023

Troy Parrott has penned a new contract extension with Tottenham Hotspur, committing his future until 2023, The Mail reveals.

The report also adds that the Irish striker's deal was due to expire in 2021 before Spurs approached him with a new contract.

He has prolonged his stay for another three and a half years amidst the transfer interest from Bayern Munich and Serie A giants Juventus.

Earlier, the 18-year-old was heavily linked with a transfer away from North London as Jose Mourinho hardly used him this season despite his impressive record with the reserve team.

Parrott was touted to be the replacement to Harry Kane in his absence however Mourinho was reluctant in handing the young striker a chance.

The Portuguese gaffer even said that the Irish prodigy is extremely talented, but the time hasn't arrived for him to take larger steps.

Parrot made his debut with the Republic of Ireland senior team last year against New Zealand in a friendly.

Spurs are currently fifth in the Premier League table and will face Aston Villa in their next game.
