Man City to offer Cancelo as makeweight in a swap deal for Serie A centre-back

Manchester City are looking to include Joao Cancelo in a player plus cash deal for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, claims the Italian outlet Sempreinter.

The Slovak international has been on the radar of Cityzens for quite some time, while Manchester United and Barcelona are also said to be keeping tabs on him.

The report briefs that City are ready to use the unsettled Cancelo as a makeweight in the deal for the Nerazzurri centre-back. However, the Serie A side don't look to be interested in parting ways with the 24-year-old.

Skriniar has established himself as one of the finest defenders in Italy over the course since moving to San Siro in 2017. He has also signed a contract extension recently, prolonging his stay until 2023.

City are currently in dire need of defensive reinforcements, and Pep Guardiola is reportedly looking for two new faces in City's backline this summer.

Guardiola's chances of winning the Premier League this season are unlikely as they are trailing table-toppers Liverpool by 22 points.
