Chelsea without two players for Manchester United clash
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that both Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are not fit enough to make the matchday squad to face Manchester United on Monday night.
Pulisic has been sidelined over the past six weeks with an adductor problem and he has been training with the Under-23s over the past few days.
Meanwhile, Loftus-Cheek has joined the full training sessions but he is still lacking sufficient fitness after nearly nine months on the sidelines following a serious Achilles injury.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference, Lampard said that Pulisic needs a few more training sessions under his belt and he won't feature in the forthcoming league contest against United.
He added that the same would remain the case with Loftus-Cheek despite the fact that the England international was involved in the regular training sessions during the winter break.
Aside from the duo, Tammy Abraham is said to be a doubt due to the ankle problem he has been carrying over the past three weeks. A late fitness test will determine his inclusion for the Red Devils clash.
